Senior Accountant

Łódź

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with a strong sense of accountability to join our finance team.

In this role, you will be the sole member responsible for overseeing accounting, tax, and financial processes. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in controlling, and financial processes areas to ensure seamless financial operations.

This position reports directly to the CFO.

We recruit in three stages:

  1. Online meeting with TA Leader, Agnieszka
  2. Knowledge test conducted onsite followed by a meeting with CFO, Joanna
  3. Team meeting with the entire financial team

We will provide updates and feedback after each stage of the recruitment process.

Your tasks & duties

  • Manage and conduct full-cycle accounting processes, from document entry to final reporting.
  • Prepare payments and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and categorize accounting entries to ensure proper classification of costs and revenues.
  • Prepare and submit necessary information for tax declarations (VAT, CIT etc.) and electronic reporting (JPK).
  • Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with applicable regulations (Polish Accounting Act).
  • Liaise with external agencies such as the Tax Office, Central Statistical Office, and National Bank of Poland for reporting purposes.
  • Execute month-end, year-end closing processes, and adhere to statutory deadlines.
  • Ensure the proper circulation of accounting documents and conduct regular balance reconciliations.
  • Generate reports, summaries, and analyses tailored to the needs of the Polish entity, including subsidiary results from Germany.
  • Utilize financial accounting software (Enova) effectively and collaborate with external payroll providers.

Main requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting, in an autonomous role with similar responsibilities.
  • Professional certifications such as SKWP or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting regulations and tax laws is essential.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Enova, is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive process improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to co-work effectively in a diverse team with varied skill sets, as well as independently in a standalone role,
  • Intermediate level of English.

Nice to have

  • Experience in service industries, particularly IT, including the management of long-term contracts.
  • Previous experience in fast-growing organizations is beneficial.
  • Relevant higher education in economics, finance, or accounting.
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing regulations and experience with R&D relief settlements.
